mixMotion created two custom  interactive installations for the official TEDx Toronto after-party at Uniun nightclub. The theme of this year’s conference was The Choices We Make.  “Fortune teller” objects and imagery was used to symbolize the theme. The event was a carefully crafted night where guests were invited to make choices that would affect and change their experience.

We debuted Kamiko our interactive kinetic sculptures. The three sculptures were hung from the ceiling and responded to the presence and movement of people by moving and changing its shape and color.  [More]

We recently completed the Smirnoff Experience party featuring T.O.’s own Deadmau5. The VIP industry party had a graphic novel theme and was entitled “Graphic”. The environment featured a comic book style narrative that followed guests from the street entrance into the party upstairs and reflected thier unfolding story throughout the night.

mixMotion’s contributions began from creative concept designs to final production. We created and projected custom animated comic panels for the large warehouse style windows. A custom designed projection screen was created in the style of a comic book panel for the DJ booth. Special lighting was designed to create the illusion of comic book shading on the guests and the enviroment.

mixMotion is creating a new innovative interactive kids game called Musical Pong for the HarbourKIDS festival at Harbourfront Centre,  A great family activity fun for ages 5-12+ that is part of the larger circus themed festival! It’s free and happening May 22-24 long weekend.

Musical Pong! This musical game has participants blow a ping-pong ball across a tabletop without letting it fall off the edge. Each table will have a distinct “family of sounds.” With several tables being played at once, the combined sounds of all the tables will create a fun, interactive and collaborative musical soundscape! mixMotion brought our Interactive Drawing tool to Ultra for the launch of Belvedere Vodka’s new “IX” brand. Graffiti artists were brought in to utilize it, and the courtyard at Ultra was transformed into an abstract, swirling wonderland of colour and light. Projecting backdrops of concrete onto the interior of the courtyard, mixMotion was able to create a gritty New York setting for the graffiti artists to use as a canvas, reflecting the branding direction for the new product.
